Military officials say a shooting at a U.S. Air Force base in New Mexico has left one person dead and another wounded.

Base security confirmed there was no ongoing threat and that a lockdown had been lifted.

Bases on U.S. soil shut down after reports of active shooters and suspicious packages. Some have banned uniforms off base.

The FBI said Wednesday that a suspicious package found outside a gate at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa earlier this week contained “possible energetic materials.” An analysis of the material has not been completed,

A veteran who served at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., died in a “domestic-related” shooting there that also injured an active-duty service member.

The Missile Road gate at Sheppard Air Force Base closed Wednesday morning due to an incident but has reopened.

The Missile Gate off of Burkburnett Road and Missile Road has been closed since 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, and is still closed as of the publication of this story.
